Eyak Lake is Pretty in Pink

This time of year in Cordova is a gift of beautiful color.  Midnight norther lights viewing before nodding off set you up for some electric dreams.  Walking before the sun has set is an constantly changing palette from brights one day to soft subtle hues another day.  Walking from Skaters cabin to Jim's Landing is a 1.5 mile walk and every single time the view is memorable, relaxing and a joy to view. Along the way  enjoy listen to the music of the water falls,  watch the icicles turn on and catch the light like a thousand diamonds just for you.  Wander and soak it all up.

We have Snow!

One of the best things about Cordova is that when it snows and stays cold it is a magical place.  There are many ways to enjoy time spent in the winter.  If you enjoy skiing, snowshoeing or snow machining you can find sooo many places to explore right out your front door. Get any gear you might need at Cordova Gear.

A hike up Mt. Eyak for a quick mid day ski offers views you will keep with your forever.  You will be looking down on the town of Cordova, Prince William Sound and Eyak Lake from the Ski Hill.

Walking around town when it is snowy outside can be slippery, but with the right gear, you will be free to roam.  Stop by the Kayak Cafe, Laura's or the Little Cordova Bakery for a cup of coffee, then wander to the Net Loft and check out local yarn by Skeins in the Stacks,a before heading to the Cordova Center Community Building to enjoy your view.  Sit and watch the harbor for awhile before visiting the Library or the Museum.  Mosey over to the Alaskan later on for a beer before heading to the Witch Kitchen to pick up a Burger.  Enjoy your evening!
