When you buy art on the heART Wall you supporting an Artist and a community initiative to make Cordova a more enjoyable place to live and to visit!
The Reluctant Fisherman Restaurant hosts the heART Wall in Cordova, Alaska. The generous support of the Arts and Artists by a local business in Cordova also supports an ongoing community project to raise fund to build covered spaces in and around the town of Cordova. Cordova Covered Spaces Project is working to create spaces for all types of outdoor gatherings. Outdoor events are an opportunity for appreciation of the natural world, and the effort to create covered spaces will enhance learning, celebrating or socializing in Cordova Alaska. A problem that most Cordovan's agree on is how wet Cordova can be. The rain fall can get to be too wet at times. Creating spaces to enjoy being outdoors with a cover to block some moisture is needed. Both children and adults have donated to the project, The Bay to Bay in May Bike/Run/Walk Event donates annual entry fees to the effort. The City of Cordova Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with the project. Local businesses and Coops, including Cordova Telephone Co-op and Cordova Electric Co-op have donated and support the ongoing fundraising efforts.
