On July 23rd we were excited to host our second monthly Meet An Artist Night at Cordova Gear! This week's artist was multi-talented craftswoman, Amber Wasson. We had lots of fun learning about her fascinating work using natural plants to dye fabrics. From foraging for local mushrooms and lichen, to using an extensive trading network with foragers across the globe, there are all kinds of ways to achieve the rainbow of natural colors you want. Amber's hand-made clothing was inspired by the magical realm of nature, and was in turn an inspiration to those who were here to learn about it! Thank you Amber Wasson for being our art presenter for July! Stay tuned for information about our next Artist night, coming up in August. Inquire at the store about receiving our art-specific e-mail updates to stay in the artistic loop. :)

June 25th's presentation by Emily Rubio was fun, interesting and informative. We learned about automatic drawing and surrealistic art as well some history about Emily and her art inspirations. Thanks Emily, we loved your presentation. Here is a tiny art show of Emily's art in postcards at Cordova Gear.
